Box Kite — TAIT Design Co.
Out of the box. Into the sky.
-
The TAIT Box Kite was the result of over a year of design and engineering, aimed at reimagining a classic kite form through a contemporary lens. With over 50 prototypes tested, it was refined for balance, strength, and flight—ultimately achieving a design that was both striking in form and effortless in the air.
Crafted from ultra-lightweight 1.5oz ripstop nylon and 2mm carbon fiber rods, the final design offered exceptional durability without compromising lift. With a steady breeze, it launched smoothly and soared with grace. Modular in nature, it could also be connected to others—forming an elegant kite train of up to five units.
The carrying bags were designed and sewn in-house at the TAIT studio in Detroit. Each one featured hand screen-printed labels, adding a personal, crafted touch to every detail.
